What is OB-TV?

Created by experienced television and production executives, OB-TV is the first company to offer video obituaries and tributes via the Internet.  Obituaries have appeared mainly in newspapers as a black and white, one-photo text summary of a person’s life and funeral information.  OB-TV is committed to creating a personalized, enhanced obituary because we believe each human being is unique, with their own story of interest, and the span of life is deserving of special recognition and remembrance. By utilizing technology, electronic media,  multiple color photographs, innovative graphics, skilled writers, and professional voices,  OB-TV ‘s vision is to  produce a first-class, respectful product which will not only showcase the essence of the deceased or person being honored, but also will symbolize your love, pride, and devotion.  Friends and family who may not attend a visitation and/or memorial service will now have an additional way to participate. Upon completion of your video we will post it on  www.OB-TV.com. and anyone can download  it for your personal use.  You will also be provided digitally- produced DVDs which you and/or others may copy unlimited times, give to whomever you wish, and view for years to come.  

What information do you need and how do I get it to you?

First, a “prompt sheet” containing suggestions for material we use in telling your loved one’s story should be filled out as soon as possible.  These are available here on our Website www.OB-TV.com.  Once completed, just click the submit button.  Photographs that reflect the deceased at various ages and can be used to depict some of the items listed on the prompt sheet are preferable.  Select as many as you like; friends and/or relatives may submit photos as well.  Please realize the final photos selected will be at our discretion.  OB-TV realizes that not all people have the same level of expertise regarding computers; fortunately, options exist for those less experienced.  Photographs need to be scanned and then e-mailed to OB-TV. You may have photos already saved on your computer and can e-mail them directly.   If you don’t operate a scanner and computer, perhaps your funeral director will help.  Other suggestions include asking a friend, relative, or business associate for assistance. You may also take your pictures to a local vendor that offers scanning/e-mailing services such as, UPS and USA Mailbox locations, Kinkos, Office Depot, CVS or Walgreens. Photos should be e-mailed in commonly used formats such as “.jpeg” or “.tiff”

Is an OB-TV obituary part of the services of my funeral home?

 OB-TV is independent of any funeral home, although we have a good relationship with funeral homes around the country.  Some funeral directors will provide you with information on OB-TV and ask that you deal directly with us at OB-TV.  Others will assist you to select photographs, scan them, and e-mail them directly to us. Either way, OB-TV will see that your DVD tribute will be produced to your satisfaction.

What can we do to make our video memorable?

Please know that we at OB-TV realize this is a time of tremendous grief and stress for you and those around you. Your funeral director could be a good resource.  Friends and family can be of immense help.  Get their help and input in filling out the prompt sheet.  Turn over family albums to them (or ask them to go through their own photos) and request their assistance in selecting photos that will tell your loved one’s story.  Look for photos at varying ages; include candid and formal; and check for those that include family and friends. Please understand that we may not be able to accommodate a request for a special song or music due licensing issues by various artists, however we will work diligently to locate an arrangement that will compliment your video and make you happy.

How do I view an OB-TV tribute?

The easiest way to view your video is to visit our website and click on "Tributes".  Family and friends can access the video the same way; the video can be e-mailed; and additional copies may be made. We encourage you to contact your funeral director if you don’t have access to a personal computer.  Anyone may download and copy tributes as often as they like. Please know, however, that DVD's are the sole property of Stan Crumley Productions, Inc. and may not be reproduced for commercial purposes, telecasting, editing, or any other use than for your personal and private enjoyment.

When will OB-TV air complete my video?

OB-TV produces videos for people all over the United States. Thanks to the Internet and numerous newspaper columns that have been written about our company we get calls and E-mails from everywhere and are pleased to produce your video no matter where you live.  Once you have completed the prompt sheet, scanned and e-mailed the pictures you have selected, OB-TV should be able to get your video to you within seven to ten days and it will also be posted on www.OB-TV.com.   

My loved one passed away several months ago and I would now like to have a video produced.  Will OB-TV provide this service?

How do I place my order with OB-TV?

Simply go to our website, www.OB-TV.com and click on the order form button. Fill out all of the information and hit submit. OB-TV accepts Mastercard, Visa and Discover Cards; and you can be assured that our website meets all security and privacy requirements.  OB-TV will never share any of your data with another company.   We also need a contact name and number in the event we need to discuss or clarify information in your OB-TV video tribute.

OB-TV video tributes are professional, broadcast quality digital videos produced by writers, producers and editors with over 70 years of broadcast television experience. We have over 20 professional broadcast male and female voices that we utilize and  hundreds of musical beds to make your video tribute distinctive and something that can be passed down for generations. 

I ordered a tribute from OB-TV and now, months later, I have decided I would really like to make some changes in the pictures or wording?  Will OB-TV make changes?

Yes, but there will be a charge for additional editing and voicing.  The additional charge will largely depend upon the amount of changes as these are labor intensive, and OB-TV producers and announcers will have to be compensated.  Please call our office to discuss any changes you wish to be made and we will endeavor to do them as reasonably as possible.
